The Osram POWERSTAR HQI-T lamps are high intensity discharge bulbs composed of a quartz burner. With their UV filter, they reduce discoloration risks. These lamps function on ballast and imperatively need to function horizontally. Each lamp of the range have a E40-type holder. The average lifetime of Osram Powerstar HQI-T 1000W White E40 is 9000 hours, which correspond to nearly 3 years of use. They offer a light with a color temperature of 3700K which correspond to a white, neutral light. The color-rendering index is by the way excellent, superior to 90Ra.
