What is emergency lighting?
Emergency lighting is lighting for an emergency situation when the main power source has fallen out and ordinary lighting fixtures don’t function anymore. Emergency lighting helps people find their way away from possible danger when the mains electricity has shut down. Emergency lighting should automatically come on when the power supply of the normal lighting provision fails.
Why is emergency lighting important?
Emergency lighting is an important source of light in the unlikely event of emergencies. After all, residents and/or staff must be able to safely leave the building in case of camalities. Therefore, emergency exit lighting is a standard requirement in buildings. When you are looking for emergency evacuation lighting, you will come across two types of lighting:
- Exit sign emergency lighting (escape route designation): provides instructions on where the nearest emergency exit is located.
- Anti-panic lighting (escape route lighting): provides a safe route to the emergency exit using fixtures that work for 3 hours without power from the mains.(mandatory for rooms over 60m2).
What types of emergency lighting are there?
First, there is a difference between conventional emergency lighting and LED emergency lighting. At Any-Lamp you will find durable LED emergency exit lighting including necessary accessories, such as exit signs and mounting material. The advantage of LED is that you save energy and that you are provided with reliable LED lighting for many years.
