Does a G4 LED bulb always fit into every existing fixture?

No, this is not always the case. A G4 12V LED capsule bulb can differ slightly in size from a G4 halogen light bulb. Often a G4 LED is slightly larger, so it can be too wide or too spacious for your current fixture. Our tip: always check the size of your current G4 light fixture in advance and compare it to the size of the G4 LED bulbs in our range. This way you can be sure that the right bulb fits your fixture in terms of dimensions. 

What are the characteristics of a G4 LED bulb?

In addition to its compact size, the plug-in fitting is central to LED G4 lighting. The two pins are 4 millimetres apart, hence the name G4. What also stands out is the number of burning hours. For comparison, a conventional G4 bulb lasts on average 2000 hours, while LED G4 has a lifespan of over 15000 hours. That's over 7 times longer and you will of course notice this in your energy consumption. You also have to replace your LED G4 lighting 7 times less often. Which colour temperature should I choose for my G4 LED bulb?

This depends on the room and the atmosphere you want to create with the G4 LED lighting. In terms of light colour, there are various options, each with their own characteristics and area of application. Below we give you more text and explanation.

• Extra warm white (2700 Kelvin) - This is the most popular colour temperature for G4 LED. 2700K lighting has a particularly pleasant effect on the lighting mood. Extra warm white G4 lamps are therefore particularly suitable for living areas such as bedrooms, but also for hotel rooms, bars and restaurants. 
• Warm white (3000 Kelvin) - G4 lamps with a warm white light colour can be used basically anywhere. This colour temperature has a cosy and inviting effect. We therefore recommend them especially for the living room and hallway. However, warm white G4 LEDs can also be used in commercial applications, for example in reception halls of hotels and restaurants or in shops. 
• Cool white (4000 Kelvin) - The cold-white light colour creates a neutral atmosphere and improves concentration and eyesight. This is why G4 plug-in lamps are often used in kitchens (e.g. as fittings under cabinets). 

What is the difference between a G4 fitting and a GU4 fitting?

The difference between a G4 and a GU4 bulb is in the diameter of the pins and the appearance of the light. With both LED bulbs, the distance between the inside is 4 millimetres. As for the diameter it is between 0.95mm and 1.05mm for GU4 bulbs and between 0.65mm and 0.75mm for G4 bulbs. Furthermore, you can really see a GU4 LED bulb as a spot with a flat head, while G4 LED bulbs are more compact and therefore more specifically suited to the most narrow fixtures.

How do I replace a G4 halogen bulb for a G4 LED bulb?

Would you like to replace your G4 lighting with G4 LED? Excellent! This will allow you to benefit from all the advantages that LED brings from day one. You also contribute to a better environment, because LED is many times more durable than halogen. What you should always check is whether the dimensions are the same. A G4 LED bulb is not always the same size as a G4 halogen bulb. If you have found the right product, the 1-to-1 replacement is very simple. First switch off the power. Then remove the old G4 halogen spot from the fixture. Please note: only do this when it has cooled down. This takes about 30 minutes. Then click your new G4 LED bulb in the same fixture and turn the power back on.

Are G4 LED capsule bulbs also dimmable?
