All Philips TL5 High-Efficiency tubes require an electronic ballast. The length of the products depends on their wattage. The average life is 24,000 hours. The Eco version of the classic TL5 HE tubes from Philips consumes 10% less energy and has a long life of 25,000 hours. If you choose a conventional ballast, a starter is also required. If you use an electronic ballast, no starter is necessary.
