Energy-saving LED lighting for high-ceiling storage
Overview: the project
For GLT Bearings GmbH, the lighting in a spacious warehouse with tall racking systems was completely upgraded. The focus was on achieving uniform illumination across all work areas, especially in the narrow aisles, to enhance safety and productivity. By replacing the outdated lighting and installing modern NX-Line continuous LED light systems, optimal lighting conditions were achieved.
What challenges were present at the outset?
Tall racks: Picking and work processes take place in the narrow aisles between the racking systems. Traditional high-bay fixtures would not have provided uniform lighting in these areas.
Outdated lighting: The existing system was technically obsolete and could neither deliver the required light quality nor the desired adaptability.
Safety and efficiency requirements: To prevent accidents and optimize workflows, uniform, glare-free illumination was essential.
The solution ...
The previous fixtures were completely replaced with the NX-Line lighting system. Continuous light strips were installed along the racking rows, ensuring that the work areas in the aisles are evenly and reliably illuminated.
The system is specifically designed for use in high-bay warehouses, offers a long service life, and can be flexibly expanded if needed.
What results and benefits were achieved?
Uniform lighting: The aisles between the racks are now free of shadows, making picking and overall logistics processes significantly easier.
Energy and cost savings: Thanks to modern LED technology, power consumption and maintenance costs are greatly reduced compared to the old system.
Flexibility & future readiness: The NX-Line continuous lighting system can be easily adapted and expanded if the warehouse is extended in the future.
