The technology indicates the operating base of a light source. The most well-known and energy-efficient example is LED. Other techniques include Halogen, gas discharge, TL (fluorescent) and the light bulb.

Wattage | 18 |
i
The wattage indicates how much energy a light source consumes. With LED lighting, the wattage is considerably lower than with conventional lighting. LED lamps with a higher wattage generally also have a higher light intensity (number of lumens).
|
Dimmable | Dimmable |
i
When you dim lights, the full power does not have to be used. You therefore save extra on energy costs. Dimmable lamps can also be used to create an extra cosy atmosphere. Keep in mind that you need a LED dimmer to dim LED lights.

Cap / Base | G13 |
i
The cap/base of a bulb is the part that connects it to the socket in the fixture. In the UK, B22 (Bayonet) caps/bases are still the most popular, although E27 (Edison screw) caps/bases are becoming increasingly popular. GU10 is the most common cap/base for spotlights. Check which cap/base you need carefully as many other types are also available.

Colour Rendering (Ra) | 80-89 |
i
Colour rendering is also known as Colour Rendering Index (CRI) and indicates the extent to which a light source reproduces colours, compared to the actual colours in daylight. Products with a good (80-89 Ra) or excellent (90-99 Ra) colour rendering show minimal deviations in the colour spectrum.
|
Luminous Flux (Lumen) | 1350 |
i
The number of lumens (lm) is the light output of a light source. The higher the number of lumens, the more light the light source emits. The wattage and the number of lumens are not connected to each other. An LED lamp with a low wattage can have a higher number of lumens than a conventional lamp with a high wattage.
|
Lumen per watt | 75 |
i
The Luminous Efficacy (lm/W) indicates how efficiently a light source uses energy. We divide the number of lumens by the wattage. The higher the number, the more efficient a product is in terms of energy consumption. LED lighting has a considerably higher lumen/Watt ratio than conventional lighting.
|
Beam Angle (degree) | 360 |
i
A beam angle indicates the angle of the light beam coming from a light source. The smaller the radiation angle in degrees (D), the narrower the beam angle.

Extra warm white light
This Philips TL-D fluorescent tube gives out an extra warm white (colour temperature: 2700K). This type of lighting is suitable for creating a relaxed and cozy atmosphere, especially embraced by the hospitality industry.
Suitable for fixtures with conventional or electronic ballast
Fluorescent tubes require a ballast and fixtures either have a conventional (electromagnetic) one or an electronic one. If your fixture doesn't have a starter, then it has an electronic ballast. No matter what type of fixture you have, this fluorescent tube works with both.
Easy installation
This type of tube is a T8 type, which is a popular and very common type of tube lighting. Switching your light tubes from old to new is quick and easy. Rotate the old tube 90° in your fixture, take it off, replace it with your new Philips TL-D and lock it in through reverse rotation of 90°. Remember that your old fluorescent light tube contains harmful substances to the environment. Extra attention must be put into the correct disposal of your old lights. If you are interested in environmentally healthy options that are installed in precisely the same manner, we warmly recommend you to consider switching to LED tubes.
Long lifespan
The lifespan of this fluorescent tube makes it an attractive buy, as it offers an average of 20.000 hours of light. Unlike what notoriously happens to the light quality of fluorescent tubes as time goes by, this tube maintains its quality throughout.
Bonus: Save more energy this way
Would you like to save more energy with your new TL-D light? We offer several LED alternatives for this light too, since fluorescent light takes a much bigger toll on the environment than LED. If you are curious about the topic and the reasons we should all switching to LED, you can read more about it on our blog.
