In the UK, B22 (Bayonet) caps/bases are still the most popular, although E27 (Edison screw) caps/bases are becoming increasingly popular. GU10 is the most common cap/base for spotlights. The colour code is a combination of colour rendering (CRI) and light colour (Kelvin). The first number indicates the colour rendering (1 = very poor colour rendering, 9 = maximum colour fastness). The second and third number contains the light colour. Example: the colour code 830 consists of good colour rendering (8) and warm white light (3000K). |

The Osram Lumilux T8 neons are fluorescent tubes providing a good color-rendering and a high brightness yield. These are the best selling models, they replace 33/640 standard color tubes. 47 cm long, they are supplied with a G13 holder. The Osram T8 L 10W/827 Lumilux Interna G13 will provide a very hot white light, corresponding to a color temperature of 2700K. Plus, their lifetime is very long, close to 2000 hours. These lamps are also very energy saving, they are labeled energy efficiency class A.
