GX53 LED Lamps
What are GX53 LED lamps?
GX53 LED lamps are the modern and efficient replacement for conventional GX53 lamps. The number 53 indicates the distance between the two pins at the bottom of the light source; they are 53mm apart. You screw this light source into the fitting of the fixture, by screwing it a quarter turn clockwise.
GX53 LED lamps are characterised above all by their low height, which means that they blend in particularly well with surfaces and provide very discreet lighting. Thanks to modern LED technology they are also extremely efficient: you save at least 50% on energy consumption. on your energy costs by replacing your conventional lamp with GX53 LED. Moreover, LEDs are much more durable and contain no toxic substances.
What are GX53 lamps used for?
Because of their size, GX53 lamps are well suited to environments that require a subtle form of lighting. This includes outdoor lighting, particularly lighting for pathways or facades. The light source is often installed in fixtures that offer protection against various weather conditions. GX53 LED lamps can also be used in indoor areas, such as corridors or stairwells. Hospitality venues are a good example.
Good to know! GX53 LED lamps are best used for mood or orientation lighting, as they have a relatively low light output (200 to 500 lumens). They are not suitable for the basic illumination of a room or a space.
What is the difference between GX53 and G53 LED lamps?
The difference between GX53 and G53 LED bulbs can be seen firstly in the design. Although both light sources have two pins that are 53mm apart, the shape of the two pins is completely different. In addition, a GX53 lamp has a flatter design with a smaller diameter. With G53 lamps it is almost standard 111m due to the AR111 shape.
The lamp types are used in completely different luminaires. GX53 LED lamps are mainly used in wall, ceiling or floor lamps. G53 LED lamps, on the other hand, are spotlights that are usually only found in or against ceilings. G53 LEDs generally have a higher light output, which means they can be used for accent or general lighting. There is also a difference in the installation of the light sources. Whereas GX53 LED lamps are connected directly to the mains, G53 light sources require a transformer.
